WHALE WARS

For the past few days I have been watching an episode on the ANIMAL PLANET called WHALE WARS. Its about a group of volunteers that have engaged in a campaign almost every winter to find and stop Japanese ships that hunt whales in the name of research, attempting to stop them by any non-violent means necessary. The eclectic group labelled activists, heroes and/or eco-pirates leave a port in Melbourne, Australia for a two-month campaign that is dangerous, controversial and has garnered international media attention. Sea Shepherd's dedicated, international crew have spent their holiday the last several years and risked their lives at the bottom of the Earth to save whales.

The ship is called the
Sea Shepherd and the captain is Paul Watson. In 1977 Watson believed his new organization had to go even further to eradicate whaling, poaching, shark finning and habitat destruction — and to uphold international conservation laws on the high seas — than the Greenpeace group he had co-founded.

Am really liking this show and reaaaaaaally reaaaaaaally thinking of joining them on their next mission. I really hate animal cruelty and I feel sick when I see people kill animals for no good reason. The Japanese eat whales how sick is that, fine they eat sushi and I love sushi but normal kind of fish tuna, salmon, crab, but whale that's sick. They also claim its in the name of "
SCIENCE ", give me a break science, they just eat weird shit, and also a whale costs around $250.000 so its a business.

If you guys had a chance download it, and watch it, wayed 7ilow.

i rememeber doing a whole research project about this..they even used to use (and some still do) the whale blubber to make a refined oil which they use in cosmetics and beauty products..even lipsticks (i know sick right?..whale fat on ur lips..mmm..Not)

But i think the IWC did introduce a new legislation which banned whaling for commercial reasons..but im not completely sure..

i'll be sure to check it out..thanks for the recommendation

you should join Greenpeace if you have a real passion for it! go for it =)
